Jerry and I went to see the newest National Treasure movie last night. I would say that it is just as good as the first one. I found myself wanting there to be more clues, but after two hours, I guess it had to stop somewhere. The addition of Helen Mirren was awesome. I'm not going to tell you her roll, 'cause that would ruin it for you...unless of course you already know. I didn't know and was most pleasantly surprised.
Apparently this reporter was less than pleased with the movie. He points out that some of the scenes and dialogue in the trailer (available here) aren't in the movie. I think it's pretty common knowledge that what you see in the trailer may not completely and accurately represent the movie. I can't count the number of times I've seen a trailer with a great group of stars and lines and say to myself "I have got to see that!" and then after viewing the movie (if I even manage to last through it) realize that all of the funny lines were in the trailer and the rest of the movie was made up of "uggghh".
**Just thought of this.....maybe there'll be an extended edition, similar to The Lord of the Rings, that will have those parts in it. That would be really cool.**
In my opinion it was a fun movie. It had a bigger range of emotion than the first one. It has all of the "I wonder if that part of history is true" moments like the first one. Movies and books that make me want to find out what the true history is, is just as interesting as the ones that tell it to me straight out.
I give it a rating of: I'm definitely buying it when it comes out on DVD.
